Doris Ethel Bench Weeks

Doris Ethel Bench Weeks, 82, passed away Monday, March 20, 2006 at her home in Lewiston, Utah. She was born in Lewiston on October 29, 1923 to Francis Weston Bench and Doris Ethel Kidman Bench. She was raised in the Lewiston area and attended the local schools. She married Leslie Weeks on April 26, 1939 in the Logan LDS Temple. They were blessed with seven children. While the majority of her life was spent living in Lewiston, she has lived in other areas of Cache Valley, including: Cornish and Trenton, Utah and Preston and Weston, Idaho. While raising a family, she also helped manage the family farm and was involved in community service. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, cooking and baking delicious meals, reading, crossword puzzles and gardening. Most of all, she loved her family and delighted in watching her posterity grow. Doris was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and has served in many callings over the years. She enjoyed her service as a Primary teacher, Relief Society counselor, Young Women teacher and Assistant Librarian. She actively and joyfully engaged in temple work. She is survived by her children: Leslie Kieth Stephanie, Lewiston; Bob LuAnn, Weston, Idaho; Rhea Ted Gregory, Plain City, Utah; Helen Layne Johnson, Clearfield; Norma Marv Hudman, Evanston, Wyoming; 53 grandchildren; 124 great grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Ronald Bench, Cedar City, Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leslie; children: NaDean and Larry; brothers: Francis, Lee, Delbert, and Eugene; and a sister, Martha Wheeler. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Lewiston 3rd Ward Chapel, 16 South Main on Saturday, March 25, 2006. Friends and family may call from 6:00 to 8:00 Friday evening at Nelson Funeral Home, 85 South Main, Smithfield and Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church prior to services.
