Donald James Woodward

Donald James Woodward was born April 1, 1927 in Logan, Utah. He was the adopted son of Ernest Caggie and Veda Grace Anderson Woodward. He died July 24, 2006 in Sacramento, California. Don was raised in Tremonton, Utah and went to school there. He was on the diving and football teams at Bear River High School. He was a corpsman in the United States Navy and was stationed at the San Diego Naval Hospital. He married Joyce Chamberlain in 1948. They had six children: Vickie Dee Dennis Harper, Honeyville, Utah, James Donald Melba Woodward, Plymouth, Utah, Wendie Joy Wade Herland, Farr West, Utah, Gary Lee Rena Woodward, Cherry Creek, Idaho, Lonny Ray LeAnn Woodward, and Doris Janay Hansen of Tremonton, Utah. They have 23 grandchildren and 51 great grandchildren. They latter divorced. He married Connie Holt in 1967. They made their home in Sacramento, California. He had six step children: Michael, Chuck, Bobbie, Sandra, Deana, and Julie all from the Sacramento area. They have 15 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He has one brother-in-law, Ernest Ruggerio of Ogden, Utah. Don worked for his Dad at Woodwards Billards & Sporting Goods, Reliable Furniture, Chiodo?s Telephone, Thiokol, Hill Field, and McMillan Air Force Bases. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Doris Ruggerio, one son, two grandsons, one granddaughter, and one great grandson. While living in this area, his greatest love was fishing and hunting. Graveside services will be held at Tremonton Riverview Cemetery on Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at 1:00 p.m.
