Donald Smith Parker returned home to greet his Heavenly Father and his lovely sweetheart and family on March 5, 2007. Don was born on July 12, 1911 in Wellsville, Utah. James C. Parker and Margaret Kilfoyle Smith were thrilled to have him join their family. He was the fourth of eight children. Don was a very active youngster and loved spending time outdoors with his childhood friends and family. Later, he met and married Macel May Hulse from Smithfield. They were married in Shelley, Idaho on July 14, 1938. Don and Macel took their two children Dean and Linda to the Logan LDS Temple on February 10, 1955 and were sealed as a family for time and all eternity. Don was a very hard worker. He was a skilled carpenter and also loved farming. He worked and grew a fabulous garden every year. He loved working with his hands and always put his talents to work for good. Don and Macel enjoyed traveling to Arizona and Nevada every winter. They loved the warm weather and being together. They spent many years cultivating friendships with people from all over the country and Canada. He was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He spent many years helping young scouts earn their merit badges. In November 1997, Don lost the love of his life and best friend, Macel, unexpectedly. He has missed her dearly and wanted to be with her ever since. He is survived by his children: Dean H. Kathy Parker of West Valley City, Utah and Linda Hulse John Olsen of Young Ward, Utah. He is also survived by one brother, James Sadie Parker of Wellsville, Utah; 5 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses that have helped take such good care of Don these past few months.
