Tremonton, UT - Dixie Nevada Larson Allen, 70, was born March 10, 1939 in Fielding, Utah to Maurice Ludvig Larson and Tessie Peck. She passed away in Tremonton Sunday, September 27, 2009 at 11:50 AM. Dixie grew up in Corinne, Utah. Following high school, she worked at the Utah State Capitol and then at Thiokol Chemical Corporation as a secretary. It was at Thiokol she met her husband, Ted Allen. They married May 22, 1959 and made their home together in Tremonton, UT. Ted died March 16, 2007. In her early years, Dixie was active in softball, 4-H and MIA where she worked with many youth. She is a worthy member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a dedicated daughter in the gospel. She has spent her life in the service of her family and others as she cheered them on to success. She taught work ethic, promoted education, and was no respecter of persons. Her life was exemplary as she fed the hungry, lightened the burdens of the weary and down trodden, and clothed the poor. Her bright spirit will be missed.
Surviving are her children: NellaDet Allen Stettler, Kaysville, UT, Robert Ted Allen, Pocatello, ID, Ruth Maurie Tarbox, Kaysville, UT, Kari Ann Allen VandeMerwe, Smithfield, UT, Cameron Maurice Allen, Casper, WY, Casey Duane Allen, Denver, CO, Jared Langdon Allen, Ogden UT; three brothers: Lynn Carl Dutch Larson, Theo Richard Larson, Timothy Ryan Larson; two sisters: Geraldine Holbrook and Sunny Peery; 21 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Thedore Anderson Allen, three sisters and two brothers. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 2, 2009 11:00 a.m. at Tremonton 3rd LDS Ward Chapel, 9690 North 6800 West, Tremonton with Bishop Norman Fukui officiating. Family and friends may call at the church Thursday, October 1, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Friday 9:30-10:40 a.m. Interment will be at Bothwell Valley View Cemetery.
