Logan, Utah: Dennis McMillan Peck, age 76, died on October 28, 2010 at the Logan Regional Hospital. He was born on March 24, 1934 in Tremonton, Utah, the son of Frank McMillan and Pearl Lillywhite Peck. He married Edna "Teddy" Clare Henrie on June 16, 1954.
Dennis was raised in Garland, Utah and attended Utah State University. He worked as a flight instructor and airplane mechanic early in his career. At age 30, he became an airline pilot for United Airlines. He worked for United for 30 years – retiring in 1994.
Dennis loved airplanes and the outdoors. He and his family enjoyed flying everything from model airplanes to his Aeronca Champ and Piper J-3 Cub. They also shared many adventures on four wheelers, motorcycles and jeeps.
He is survived by his wife Teddy of Logan and six children: Dani Varela, Colorado; Jerianne Gabriel, Logan; Wendi and Bill Casey, Colorado; Brian Dennis And Annie Peck, California; Doran Henrie and Jana Peck, Idaho; Jason McMillan and KeAnn Peck, Idaho. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one sister, Sherry and Dee Day, California.
At Dennis' request, his family will host a "celebration of his life" at the Logan Cache Airport on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 12:00 noon. Family and friends are welcome and will be sharing memories, music and flying. Please bring photographs and stories to help celebrate his wonderful life. All pilots are encouraged to fly in. Dress is casual.
