Dee Hagert Wilson, 83, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on October 28, 2003 at the Logan Regional Hospital after an extended illness. He was born on July 18, 1920 in Hyrum, Utah to Ezra John Wilson Jr. and Mayme Hagert Wilson. His mother passed away a year later and he was lovingly raised by his stepmother, Isabelle Olson Wilson. At the age of 15, he received his Eagle Scout Award. He attended Hyrum schools including South Cache High School and then Utah State University. Starting in 1941 he served a 2 ½ year mission to Belo Horizonte, Brazil. When he returned, the war had started so he joined the Merchant Marines until the end of the war. On December 14, 1945 he married Marjorie Couch from Logan. They have been soul mates for almost 58 years. Dee, along with his father and mother, ran the Logan Cache Knitting Mills until its closing in 1965. During those years, the family hired numerous widows in the area, making sure they were able to support their families with dignity. He also owned apartment buildings throughout the area where many USU students came to enjoy Dee?s sense of humor as a landlord. For many years Dee sold tailor-made suits. He also worked at Utah State University until his retirement. He was an avid sportsman and gardener. He had a love for dancing and a wit for rhyming. He was a member of the Logan Second Ward. He is survived by his sweet wife, Marjorie, Logan; sons: Dee Jr., Logan; Earl, Medford, Oregon; a daughter, Bonnie Brent Hislop, Sparks, Nevada; 15 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and a brother, Leonard Deanna Wilson, Kaysville, Utah. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Earl and Claire and a son, Scott. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 31, 2003 at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan. Friends and family may call prior to services from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Interment will be in the Hyrum City Cemetery. Condolences may be extended to the family online at
