Dee C. Hirschi

November 5, 1925 — April 7, 2003

Dee C. Hirschi Tremonton: Dee C. Hirschi, 77, died April 7, 2003, at the Bear River Valley Care Center in Tremonton. He was born November 5, 1925, in Ogden, Utah, the son of Albert David and Josie Carter Hirschi. He married Ivie Deon Christensen on June 8, 1951, in the Logan LDS Temple. Dee graduated form Box Elder High School in Brigham City. He was a veteran of WWII where he served with the Navy. He lived his whole life in Park Valley. At the death of his father in 1949 he began the day to day operation of the ranch and the care of his mother. In 1980 he sold the family ranch and moved to Tremonton. He was the Park Valley Mail Carrier for 52 years which involved a daily route of 300 miles. He was honored by the US Postal Service for 50 years of service and for driving his route one million miles accident free. He was a High Priest in the Tremonton 2nd Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had served as an Elders Quroum President, High Priest Group Leader, a Ward Clerk and many other callings. He is survived by his wife Deon of Tremonton; his children, Kevin Jelean Hirschi, Garland; Jackie Bryce Archibald, Tremonton; Denise Richard Wells, Thatcher; Bret Dee Melanie Hirschi, Tremonton; Melanie Jerry Henley, Alpine, UT; Jennie David Brotherson, Roosevelt; Vickie Cory Mecham, Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; 33 grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, sisters, Helen Pugsley, ParkValley; Fern Byron Hunsaker, Honeyville; LaNoma Taylor, Tremonton; Betty Earl Harris, Pleasant View. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Curtis; a sister, Ledah; a grandson, Christian Reals Henley. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 11, 2003, 11:00 a.m. at the Tremonton 2nd/5th Ward Chapel, 300 South Tremont. Friends may call Thursday, April 10th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Friday, April 11th from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton.
