Deborah Sue Millard, or Debbie to those who knew her, peacefully completed her mission on earth in Cheyenne, Wyoming on January 1, 2007, as she returned from a treasured Christmas with family in Utah. Debbie began her mortal journey on October 12, 1957 in Omaha, Nebraska. Throughout Debbie?s childhood, she embarked on many adventures in travel; living on the east and west coasts of the United States, as well as spending time in England. These early explorations provided needed preparation for what would be Debbie?s greatest adventure on earth, her marriage to Arthur James Millard. Though Arthur?s proposal was preceded by a heart wrenching ?Dear John? letter from Debbie, perseverance and determination once again proved that good things come to those who wait. Arthur and Debbie were married on March 17, 1976. As first generation converts to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Arthur and Debbie were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple on March 26, 1977. Together Arthur and Debbie traveled the world with the military and just as their road map of life quickly became marked by many transfers; their hearts became forever touched by the addition of eight remarkable children to their family. Though Debbie?s greatest accomplishments on earth called her mother, she was equally cherished by those who knew her as nana, grandma, ward chorister, primary and young women?s president, temple worker and friend. In addition to Debbie?s numerous callings in life, she also found time to nurture countless talents. She took great pleasure in sewing, stamping, scrap booking, singing, playing the piano and doting after her four grandchildren. Debbie?s memory lives on through all who adored her, and her legacy of love and compassion will be continued by her husband, Arthur, and her children: Heather, Kevin, Jack, Daniel, Sean, Divinity, Traci, and Sabre. Debbie was laid to rest in Hyrum, Utah on January 6, 2007 after a beautiful tribute by her family. A memorial service to honor and celebrate Debbie?s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 13, in the Fort Walton Beach Stake Center, 339 Lake Drive, Fort Walton Beach.
