De Esta Olive Holmgren Sampson Gallup, NM: De Esta Holmgren Sampson, 94, passed away in her sleep, April 29, 2002, at her home in Gallup, NM. De Esta was born in Bear River City, UT, to David and Hilda Nelson Holmgren. She was 12 years old when her family moved to Tremonton. She graduated from Bear River High School and Utah State University. She taught school in Fairfield, ID, Snowville, UT, Ogden, UT and Gallup, NM. She was a wonderful teacher and will be remembered by many students. She retired after 40 years in the classroom. She met and married Irving Gerard Sampson in the Salt Lake Temple. She is survived by her son, David Sampson of Payson, AZ; six grandchildren in Seattle, WA; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Winifred H. Stoddard, Salt Lake; Phyllis H. Wood, Garland; brothers, Lyle E. Holmgren, Smithfield, UT; Warren G. Holmgren, Bear River City, UT; She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Ross H. Sampson; daughter, Linda Seat; two sisters, Floy Holmgren, Ethel Stanger; two brothers, Daryl F. Holmgren and Wayne David Holmgren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 4, 2002, 11:00 a.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East Tremonton. Family and friends may call Saturday, May 4th from 9:30 to 10:40 at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Bear River City Cemetery.
