In Loving Memory of Darwin Eugene Blazer

Darwin Eugene Blazer was 59 and living in Hyde Park, Utah when he passed away peacefully on June 14, 2024. He was born on May 25th 1965 in Napa California, to Diane (neé Simpson) and Donald Blazer. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, friend, and community member, living in the beautiful Cache Valley since 2021 when he relocated there with his wife Victoria. Darwin loved Utah’s Cache Valley, finding it second only to the Napa Valley and the Soda Canyon creek area where he grew up and where his ashes will be scattered; his family and friends will certainly recall with great fondness the time they spent growing up there with him, and endless hours spent playing in and around the creek.

Darwin will be remembered by his devoted wife, Victoria Blazer; his son, Dean Blazer, his bonus daughter Sarah Blazer; his brother, Dale (LeeAnn) Blazer, his sister Debbie (Judge Taylor) Blazer, his brother-in-law Chad (Leslie) Karlewicz; his nephews Nick (Jena) Blazer, Zachary Simpkins, Harrison Karlewicz, Regan (McKenzie Alexander) Karlewicz, and Manuel (Danielle) Ruiz; his nieces Kristi (Matt) Blazer Souza and Grace Simpkins; his great nephews Magnus, Silas, Jakob, Makswell, Jaxson, Bastian, and Abraham; his great niece Avery; extended family, friends, and community. Darwin joins in Heaven his beloved mother Diane whom he’s missed acutely since her untimely passing in 2001, his father, and his great niece Aleksei Diane Blazer Souza with whom he serendipitously shared a birthday - something that brought him great joy and blessed him deeply.

Darwin had a successful career as a journeyman plumber, where he was admired for his ingenious problem solving skills and unwavering work ethic. Beyond his professional achievements, he was an avid collector of knives, flashlights, and Zippo lighters. Those closest to Darwin knew of his interest with these objects since childhood, and as an adult his wife Victoria enthusiastically supported his collecting and collections.

Those who knew Darwin will remember his infectious smile, his huge bear hugs, his unparalleled storytelling ability, his generous spirit, and his ability to make everyone feel special and loved. He had a unique gift of bringing joy and laughter into any room, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

We find solace in knowing that Darwin’s legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched. Rest in peace, Darwin; your memory will forever be a blessing to us all.
