Darlene Grover Whitaker

December 17, 1925 — February 8, 2004

Gardnerville, Nevada - Beloved Mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend after a long courageous fight with cancer returned to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, February 8, 2004. She was born Dec. 17, 1925 in East Garland, Utah. She graduated from Bear River High School and attended Utah State University. She and her husband, Lowell, were married in the Logan LDS Temple December 30, 1946.
During his military career they lived in many different places and retired in Santa Anna, Ca. In recent years she made her home in Gardnerville, Nevada near her only son, Jeffery L. Whitaker. During her life she held many responsible positions in the LDS church. She is survived by her son, Jeffery L. Whitaker and his wife, Marla of Gardnerville, Nevada, three granddaughters, Jessie, Sara and Thea and one grandson, Jared, one half brother, Darold Seager, four brothers, Rolland Emily Grover of Roosevelt, Utah, Wesley Bonnie Grover, Palmer, Alaska, Leon Jackie Grover Washington, Utah, Craig Una Grover Fielding, Utah, and one sister, Karen Gary Huckaby of Farr West, Utah, and many cousins, nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother Clifton Vera Grover and one sister, Jean Theron Grover Peterson.
A memorial service will be held at her ward in Gardnerville, Nevada on Wednesday, February 11, 2004 followed by a viewing Saturday, February 14, 2004 at Rogers Taylor Funeral Home located at 111 North 100 East, Tremonton, Utah from 10:00-11:00 am. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 am in the East Garland Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at www.rogersandtaylor.com .
