Darlene Stenquist Grubbs, 85, passed away Oct. 12, 2014 in Logan, Utah. She was born on Mothers Day May 12, 1929 in Kaysville, UT to Edwin O. and Mary King Stenquist. Growing up in Tremonton, UT she attended Bear River High and Utah State Agricultural College before moving to California. Darlene married Rocco Neal Grubbs in 1955. They settled in La Crescenta, CA and raised their 2 children. In 1986 Darlene moved to Walla Walla, Washington where she resided until 2005 when she returned to Utah to be near her siblings in Logan.
Darlene was an accomplished pianist and organist, and served many musical callings over the years as a member of the LDS church. She enjoyed gardening, especially her tulips and tomato plants, and was also a volunteer at the sheriff's station in both La Crescenta and Walla Walla.
She is survived by her daughter Lisa Laurie Morvan of Lakewood, CA, her son Karl Donna Grubbs of Winnebago, MN, 2 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are 2 sisters, Ileen Turner and Marilyn Kitchen, and brother, Wayne Stenquist.
A graveside service will be at 2 pm Friday, Oct. 17 at the Riverview Cemetery in Tremonton, UT. Condolences may be expressed online at
