It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Daren Charles Falter, beloved husband, devoted father, and cherished son, at the age of 56, on November 2nd, 2024. Daren was a man of immensity. His presence could light up a room, his jokes made you belly-laugh, and his love for his family was unparalleled. His sudden and unexpected departure leaves a deep void in the hearts of all who knew him.
Born on October 8, 1968, Daren was the son of David Everett Falter and Margaret Ann Falter, who survive him, along with his brothers and sisters, Eric Falter, Tracy Plank, Sarah Rockwell, Jamie Liden, and Jason Falter. From the moment he was born, Daren brought joy to his family, filling their lives with love and laughter. His parents were his first teachers, and the bond they shared remained strong throughout his life. Daren was an embodiment of the values his parents instilled in him: faith, compassion, hard work, and above all, a selfless love for others.
Daren leaves behind his beloved wife, Vanessa Falter. In the short time they had together, they shared a love that was filled with joy, resilience, and plenty of laughter. Daren was always the first to crack a joke, often making light of the daily struggles of life and always managing to find humor, even in the most difficult of times. And though we wish we could have one more night of his silly jokes, we take comfort in knowing that he’s left us with countless photos, silly videos and cherished memories that will keep us laughing for years to come.
As a father, Daren’s devotion knew no bounds. He was the proud father of six incredible children with Sandy Falter: Kylee (Luke) Maughan, Lauren (PJ) Pace, Brooklyn (Yanni) Beckdol, Austin (Tracy) Falter, Adam Falter, and Emmalee Falter. His love and pride over each of them was thorough and boundless. And his bonus kids: Caleb (Rachel) Anderton, Brooke Anderton, Logan (Hannah) Anderton, Aimee (Ethan) Felt, Enzo Anderton and Rona Falter. He was their protector, their mentor, and their greatest supporter. Daren and Vanessa spent their years together cherishing and cheering on their 16 grandchildren: Brody, Piper and Rowen Maughan; Charlie, Maelie, Lola and Beckett Pace; Turner and Clark Falter; Ronan, Henry, Bennet and Isla Anderton, Ada and Eleanor Felt, and James Anderton. His unwavering belief in their abilities, his constant support, and his loving presence will remain with them forever, even as they face the world without him.
Beyond his immediate family, Daren had a large community of friends and a Yoli and church family who will miss his warmth, generosity and his infectious spirit. His temperament was the same on stage speaking for hundreds of people, or sitting with a small group of friends. For friends and strangers alike, Daren never hesitated to lend a helping hand, offer a word of encouragement, or share a moment of laughter. His kindness and integrity touched everyone who crossed his path, and his loss is felt deeply by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A public celebration of Daren’s life will take place at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 600 Overhulse Road Northwest, Olympia, Washington on November 29th, 2024 at 2:00pm PST where his family and friends can come together to share their memories and honor the incredible man he was.
Daren’s passing leaves an irreplaceable emptiness in the lives of those who loved him. He was a man who gave all he had to those around him, a man whose love, strength, and resilience will forever be etched in the hearts of his family. Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit will live on in the lives of his family, the memories he created, the lessons he taught, and the love he so freely gave. He could never be forgotten, he made sure of that in life. And he will always be deeply, deeply missed. Rest in Paradise, Daren.
