Daniel Abel Alvares, 83, of Smithfield, Utah passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2013. Together again with his beloved spouse, Florinda.
Daniel was born October 17, 1929 to Frank & Inez Marinda Alvares in Indaparapeo, Michoacan, Mexico along with two sisters, Esperansa Mexico & Ernestina California. Daniel married the love of his life, Florinda Maes Alvares. They spent 58 wonderful years together and were nearly inseparable. They spent a lot of time sitting hand in hand on their porch.
Daniel loved to hunt, fish, go camping, take care of his dogs, spend time with his grandchildren, and do anything in the great outdoors. He worked for 23 years as a machine operator for LeGrand Johnson Construction Company.
Daniel is survived by his 6 children: Danny, Nancy Kim, Sally Russel, Sammy Jordan, Carol, & Frank; 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren with one more on the way.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, September 26, at 11 am at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 725 S. 250 E. A viewing will be held from 10-11 before the funeral. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm at Nelson Funeral Home in Smithfield, 85 S. Main St. Interment will follow directly at the Smithfield City Cemetery.
