On May 30, 2009, Dan Ellis Jonas returned to Heavenly Father. He was born on June 2, 1958 to Ellis Seth Jonas and Geraldine Pitcher. Dan had received his Eagle Scout and Duty to God award when he was young. He was also part of the Front Porch Majority at Sky View High School. He toured the U.S. and parts of Europe with the Sounds of Zion at Utah State University. He was a football player in Jr. High and High School. He served in the student council and class presidency at North Cache Jr. High and Sky View High School. He continued on to Utah State University and graduated in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science in Business. Dan also served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the Fresno-California Mission. After graduating from Utah State he worked for Pfizer for 23 years. He received numerous awards, Rep. of the Month, Rep. of the Quarter, and Rep. of the Year. He was a beloved brother, son, grandson, uncle, and friend. All of those who knew him loved him. He was preceded in death by his brother, Kent Ronald Jonas; grandparents, Joseph Jonas and Lillian Coley, Ronald Nelson Pitcher and Mary Fulkerson. He is survived by his parents, Ellis Seth Jonas and Geraldine Pitcher; family members, Chris Lykins, Mary Lou Jonas Jarel B. Hoyt, Julie Ann Jonas Darnell W. Kowallis, and Ronald Nelson Jonas Denise Chambers. Dan has many nieces and nephews, along with great nephews and a great niece. A viewing will be held in Denver on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at 12:00pm with a service at 2:00pm at the Olinger Hampton Mortuary located at 8600 East Hampton Ave., Denver, Colorado. Local services will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 11:00 am at the Smithfield LDS Chapel located at 640 N. 200 E. Smithfield, Utah. A viewing will be held at Nelson Funeral Home, 85 South Main, in Smithfield on Friday, June 5, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 pm and Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to services.
