Dan Stephen Henrie

Dan Stephen Henrie of North Logan died April 28, 2009 of complications from emphysema. He was born February 3, 1940 to Leland C. Henrie and Marie A. Cole Henrie in Richfield, Utah. He graduated from Richfield High School and attended Utah State University, where he met his wife, Marilyn Andersen of Smithfield, Utah. They were married Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 1971 in Las Vegas, Nevada. At that time, they moved to Richfield, Utah to take over the family business of 111 years, Richfield Monument Company. They made many beautiful headstones scattered throughout south central Utah. Because they had no children, they sold the business when Dan retired in 2006 and moved to North Logan in 2007 to be closer to family. Dan also taught English at Roy High School for 6 years prior to getting his Masters Degree in 1970 at USU. Dan is survived by his wife of North Logan; step-sister, Sally Merle Hodel of Salt Lake City; brothers and sisters-in-law: Lynn and Glenna Payne of Trenton; Ron and Rose Andersen of Egan, Minnesota; John and Tammy Andersen of Loma, Colorado; and Susan Andersen of Logan. Also surviving him are many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother, Virginia Isbell Winget Henrie, and older brother, Michael L. Henrie. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday May 2, 2009 at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan with a viewing from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to services. Services will also be held at Magleby?s Mortuary on Monday, May 4, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. with a viewing from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Richfield Cemetery.
