Dail Alvin Sibbett

Dail Sibbett passed away May 8, 2003 at the Logan Regional Hospital. He was born January 12, 1918 in Shelly, Idaho, son of Alvin and Olive Sibbett. He grew up in Idaho working on the family sheep farm. Later he moved to Rupert where he worked for Amalgamated Sugar Company as a crane operator. After retiring, he moved to Logan making his home there since 1982. In September 1941 he married LeOra Hopkins in Rupert. During their marriage, they had two daughters, Ann and Jean. They were later divorced. Dail married Fern Jones on September 19, 1959. Fern brought three more daughters to Dail?s family, Karren, Utahna and Pauline. He loved each of his 5 daughters with all his heart. Dail devoted his life to his wife and family. He was known for his kindness and helpfulness by his neighbors and friends. Many friends and family have benefited from his talent for repairing small equipment. He was a gentle, quiet man with a keen sense of humor. In 1960, he joined the LDS Church. He spent many enjoyable hours on extractions for the genealogy program. At the time of his death, he was a High Priest. He is survived by his wife Fern Sibbett, daughters: Karren Frank Fullmer, Ann R.J. Evans, Utahna GaryNielson, Jean Joe Hoffman, Pauline Wayne Weiner and a brother Darlo Ilene Sibbett. He has 14 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents Alvin and Olive Sibbett, his former wife LeOra, and brother Delmar Sibbett. Services will be conducted by Bishop Karl Reed at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan, at 12:00 noon on Monday, May 12, 2003. Sunday evening from 6:00 ? 8:00 p.m. & Monday from 10:30 ? 11:30 a.m. friends and family are invited to meet with the family at Nelson Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Providence City Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of Logan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the compassionate care Dail received during his stay at the facility.
