D. Thayne Jones

March 11, 1937 — July 10, 2006

Fielding, UT ? D. Thayne Jones, 69, passed away from complications from heart surgery Monday, July 10, 2006 at McKay-Dee Hospital. He was born to David Benjamin and Ruby Ainsworth Johnson Jones March 10, 1937 in Tremonton, Utah. He graduated from Bear River High School. He married RaEtta Whiting September 20, 1957 in Plymouth, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized April 3, 1964 in the Logan LDS Temple.
Thayne lived in Fielding all his life except for seven years spent in Mesa, Arizona. He served on the Fielding Town Council for over 20 years. He was most recently involved in the building of the new fire station. Thayne loved spending time with his family, horseback riding, snow skiing, hunting, reading and watching various sports activities. He was also an incredible story teller. Next to his family, his other great love was raising quarter horses and cutting horses. He was a member of the Fielding LDS Ward and served on the High Council and had a love for teaching the gospel. Surviving are his wife; four children: Ricky D. Susan Jones, Logan, Utah; Geri Kyle Winward, Mesa, Arizona; Blair Ray Jones, Phoenix, Arizona; Jennifer Billy Clark, Logan, Utah; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way; one sister, Esta Orvin Jones Pierson, Fielding, Utah; two sisters-in-law, Joy Jones, Newton, Utah and Jalene Jones, Mesa, Arizona. He is preceded in death by his parents, one son, Bradley Thayne and four brothers: Dale, John Jack, Dwane and Owen J.
Services will be held Friday, July 14, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fielding Stake Center, 4375 West 15600 North, Fielding. Family and friends may call from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday and from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Friday at the Stake Center. Interment at Fielding Cemetery.
