Creed Francis Johnson

December 9, 1922 — July 6, 2003

On Sunday, July 6, 2003, the world lost a caring man; a man that was loved by all those who knew him. Creed Francis Johnson, 80, returned back to his Heavenly Father after a struggle with cancer. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed.
Creed was born in Smithfield, on Dec. 9, 1922 to Joseph and Elnora S. Johnson. He married Ruby Marie Berger on September 12, 1944, in the Salt Lake temple. The temple was a special place for him and Ruby, they have served for the fourteen years in the Logan temple. Creed and Ruby served an LDS mission in Dallas, Texas in 1986. He loved gardening and taking care of his yard. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and his family. Creed served in WWII with the Navy as a radar man. He is survived by his wife, Ruby B. Johnson. As well as his four children: Terry Ellen Johnson, of Smithfield, Jan Richard Watts, of St. George, Joy Michael J. Smith, of Layton, and Linda Alan Elder, of Smithfield. Also surviving are his twelve grandchildren; Shane, Chalisa, Jennifer, and Mindy Johnson; Jessica Watts; Ryan, Tia, Thomas Smith; Amanda, Alicia, Anthony, and Adrianne Elder. He also has seven great grandchildren, with one on the way.
The family of Creed F. Johnson would like to thank his many friends, associates, and the MICU staff at the University of Utah hospital for their support, and their caring.
