Logan ? Craig M. Olson, 42, passed away suddenly at his home on October 5, 2003. He was born October 12, 1960 in Logan, Utah to Melvin and Barbara Olson. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed being involved in the scouting and youth programs and activities. He was educated in the Logan City schools, graduating from Logan High School in 1979. He also attended Utah State University studying marketing and English. He was very talented in jewelry making and excelled in creative writing. From his childhood, Craig had a fascination with cars and as a high school student, became a proficient mechanic. He later worked for several years as a car salesman at Landmark Chevrolet and Landrover Volkswagon in Salt Lace City and at Lou Dobbs Chevrolet in Memphis, Tennessee. While in Salt Lake City, he also worked as a carpet cleaning technician and assistant manager for Sears Carpet Cleaning and later established his own carpet cleaning and installation company and his own car lot in Logan. He married Lisa Shaffer on April 4, 1987. They were later divorced. Craig is survived by his parents of Logan, Utah; Lisa Shaffer, son: Chase Olson; daughters: Candis and Gina Lynn Smith; grandchildren: Cheyanne, Tabitha, Skylar, Austin, all of Preston, Idaho; brother: Clair Manami Olson, Tokyo, Japan; sisters: Sheryl Paul Booth, Ogden, Utah; Sheline Brett Booth, Las Vegas, Nevada and numerous nephews and nieces. Craig loved being in the outdoors, enjoying nature, camping and fishing. He also had a great love for little children, especially his children and grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, October 11, 2003 at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to funeral services from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Interment will be at the Millville City Cemetery. Condolences to the family may be extended online at
