Cora Hales

Tremonton ? Cora Nielson Hales peacefully left this life on Saturday, July 15, 2006 at the age of 99. She was born March 24, 1907 to Oliver George Loveland and Margaret Pearl Newman in Ogden, Utah. Cora grew up in Riverside where she attended school. In her youth she worked hard at home, in other homes, and on the farm. She married Marvin LeRoy Nielson, October 8, 1924 in the Salt Lake Temple. They raised six children in Garland. After Marv?s death in 1956, Cora finished raising her family, began her career with the US postal service. In 1990 at the age of 83 she married George Robert Hales he died in 1996. Cora lived a life full of service to her family, and others. Her life centered around her belief and membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She enjoyed innumerable civic, social, and career accomplishments. She is survived by four children; Gary L. Jean Nielson, Tremonton, Renee Lowell Johnson, Tremonton, Margaret Ann Farrell Udy, Garland, Jay L. Judy Nielson, Providence, Utah; 19 Grandchildren, 77 Great Grandchildren, 15 Great Great Grandchildren; one sister Ann Wagstaff, Salt Lake. Also survived by the children of George Hales, Shirley, Robert, Betty, and Max deceased.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin LeRoy Nielson, her son Marcel L., her daughter Barbara Jean Madsen, a grandson Richard D. Madsen, great great granddaughter, Morgan Shea. She also was preceded in death by her parents, and step father George Alvin Bowcutt, and step mother Ethel Loveland. Her siblings Josephine Swenson, Clifford Bowcutt, Vera Butler, George Bowcutt, Florence Hess-Spencer, Grace, Henry, and Blaine Bowcutt, Elaine Scothern, Wayne, Ada, and Venna Loveland. The funeral service will be held Thursday July 20, 2006 at the Garland Tabernacle located at 140 West Factory. There will be a viewing from 6-8 pm, Wednesday evening, at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home located at 111 North 100 East in Tremonton, and Thursday morning prior to the services at the Garland Tabernacle from 10:30-11:30 am.
