Clynn A. Seamons

August 16, 1930 — November 4, 2008

Clynn A. Seamons, 78, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at his Smithfield home, with loving family members around him, following a long and valiant struggle with many health problems. Clynn was born August 16, 1930 to Harvey Noble and Melba Olney Seamons at their family home in Hyde Park, UT. For his first sixteen years, Grandma Sarah, who crossed the plains with the Willie Handcart Company, was an important part of his life. He loved sharing stories about her, and was very proud of his pioneer heritage. A highlight of his life was to retrace their steps on a family trek in August 2006. He graduated from North Cache High School in 1948. He was blessed to have many friends in his young life who remained close to him over the years, along with many other friendships he made along the way. Clynn made his living as a farmer and mink rancher for many years, then was employed by the Cache County School District as a bus driver, maintenance worker and retired after many enjoyable years as a maintenance supervisor. He enjoyed serving in his church, community, Lions Club, and Men's Golf Association. Many were recipients of his generous service. His quick wit, sense of humor and the ability to laugh at himself endeared him to everyone. Those not endeared to him, endured him. Clynn married Jean Smith in the Logan Temple on June 19, 1950. To their marriage was born three daughters: Kathy Brent Downs, Hyde Park, UT; Debbie Ron Durtschi, Kaysville, UT; and Tina Brian Daines, Hyde Park, UT. Jean passed away May 26, 1970. Clynn and Louise Almond Rose were married July 9, 1971 in Hyde Park, UT. This gave Clynn four sons, whom he loved as his own: Kevin Karina Rose, Alpine, UT; Brad Rose, Smithfield, UT; Michael Shelley Rose, Santa Clara, UT; and Eric Rose deceased formerly married to Jennifer Obray. He has a loving posterity which includes 20 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren, the youngest one being born the day after his death. Brothers: Rendell Rhonda, deceased Seamons, Hyde Park, UT; Ervin Lorraine Seamons, Whittier, CA; and Val Seamons, Logan, UT. Sisters: Carol Del Howells, Paradise, UT; and Ramona Earl Lamb, Orange, CA. Clynn has extended family, several nieces and nephews living all over the world, whom he loved very much and who loved him dearly in return. Funeral services for Clynn will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 10, 2008 in Smithfield, UT at the LDS Chapel, 625 East 600 South. A viewing will be held Sunday evening, November 9, 2008 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan and on Monday at the church in Smithfield from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to services. Clynn will be laid to rest in the Hyde Park Cemetery, Hyde Park, UT. Condolences may be extended to the family online at www.nelsonfuneralhome.com .
