On September 2, 2022 Butch returned to the many angels awaiting to welcome him after he passed away in his home surrounded by his family.
Clinton LaMoine Clegg was born June 11, 1941 to Thomas Massey Clegg and Thelma Isabelle Jenks. He was the fifth of six children. His mom wanted to call him Clinton, his dad wanted to call him LaMoine, his uncle Emmett wanted to call him Butch, which is the name that stuck throughout his life.
He grew up in Logan Utah where he met and married the love of his life, Marie Adams, on August 30, 1963. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan Temple. Butch was still here with Marie for their 59th wedding anniversary.
Butch and Marie had two daughters, Kristie Marie (Kevin) Sorensen and Tereasa Linn Anderson.
Their daughters blessed them and their lives with ten grandchildren. Kyler (Kimberly) Sorensen, Mikhol (David) Hall, Daycie (Kolton) Smith, Alex (Kolten) Watterson, Cameron Sorenson, Kailey Mathews (deceased), Kade Sorensen, Karisa (Jessie) Baker, Tyce Mathews, Kason (Ashtyn) Mathews. They also have 14 great grandchildren.
Butch laid carpet for twenty years and often did so with his brother DeVar. This time they had together was something he enjoyed but his knees did not. He got a job working for Utah State University on their grounds crew and retired after 25 years there.
Butch loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, trapping, camping, being surrounded by his family or spending time with friends but always loved being with his wife Marie. There was no Butch without Marie and vice versa. He was everyone’s Grandpa, and there was never a soul Butch would not extend a hand to or go out of his way to help in any way he could.
Butch loved the gospel and had a strong testimony. He loved the people in his ward and appreciated all they did for him over these last several years.
Butch and Marie live in a very special neighborhood. They have all been like family. A special thank you is extended for all they have continued to do and the help they offered.
He is survived by his sweet wife, Marie, two daughters Kristie (Kevin), and Tereasa. Nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, one sister, Margie (the boss) Hymas, one brother DeVar (Jan) Clegg and many nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, his mother and father in-law, two brothers, one sister, four brothers in-law, one granddaughter, and one great-granddaughter.
The family would like to thank Dr. Stones and CNS for the care given! It has been deeply appreciated.
