Clifford Roy Anderson

August 16, 1914 — November 18, 2008

His last words of wisdom were, "love your children" and he followed his own advice. Clifford Roy Anderson, born August 16, 1914, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at the age of 94. He was a remarkable man whose dedication to life, valor, and honor was above reproach. Providence lost one of their oldest citizens with the death of Cliff. He married his sweetheart, Gladys Berger, in the Logan LDS Temple on July 2, 1941. His great love was his wife and he sought to be with her again. He spent his entire life in Providence and loved the mountains to the East. He knew the mountains like the back of his hand having spent many years hunting, and fishing. He left for World War II on October 11, 1943, and on his return he stated, "I don't care if I never leave this place again." He truly loved Providence and its great heritage along with sauerkraut. He worked for LeGrand Johnson Construction Company for 35 years as a Superintendent on many road projects in the intermountain West. He held many positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Gladys, his parents, numerous brothers and sisters, and one great grandson. He has five children he forgot to take with him to heaven: Larry and Patricia Anderson, Blaine and Lonna Anderson, Howard and Jeanette Christenson, Carol and Terry Goodsell, David and Jodie Anderson and son-in-law Kevin Jensen. His posterity included 18 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren. As a family we would like to thank the staff at Legacy House, Sunshine Terrace Rehabilitation Unit 6, the therapists and assistants at Sunshine Terrace, and IHC Hospice for their great care, dedication, time and comfort for Dad. His funeral will be Saturday, November 22, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in Providence at the LDS church located at 309 South Main Street. A viewing will be held Friday, November 21 at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. and again at the church in Providence on Saturday, November 22, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Interment will be in the Providence City Cemetery.
