Fielding - Our beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Cleo Farnsworth Wood, 94, passed away Thursday, May 27, 2004 in Tremonton, Utah.
Cleo was born July 28, 1909 in Fielding, Utah to Leo Ezra and Ruby Lovina Richards Farnsworth. She graduated from Bear River High in May 1928 where she was Student Body Vice-President.
She married Ross C. Wood August 25, 1928 in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple May 28, 1930.
After Ross' death in May 1977, Cleo married his brother, David G. Wood of California the following December. They spent summers in Fielding and winters in California until the death of David in January 1992.
Cleo was active in the LDS Church and served many years in the Primary and MIA in the Fielding Ward and Bear River Stake. She and David served as officiators in the Los Angeles Temple for two years.
She was a great homemaker, a good cook and a beautiful seamstress, making many beautiful clothes for her daughters and granddaughters. She pieced together many quilts and crocheted afghans until she lost her eyesight. In spite of her blindness, she was independent and lived alone until she became ill two years ago.
Her positive attitude, cheerfulness and her keen interest in all of her family members has been an inspiration to all that knew her.
We give thanks for the great care she has been given at the Bear River Valley Care Center, Vistacare Hospice and to the many people who visited her there. She loved and appreciated all of you.
Cleo is survived by her children, Harvey R. Iris Lee Wood, Fielding, Utah; Carla Jay Risenmay, Rexburg, Idaho; Dee Ann Norman Rudd, Fielding, Utah; 16 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren and 14 great, great grandchildren; her sisters: Irene Peck Wood, Carmen Boss, Maxiene Gardner and Doris Ace Christensen; sisters-in-law: Adena Weir, Letha Marvin Stenquist, and Phobe Pinder.
