Cleo Udy Forsberg

August 23, 1912 — March 2, 2005

Riverside, Utah - Cleo Pete Udy Forsberg, 92, was reunited with her sweetheart on March 2, 2005. She was born August 23, 1912, the third of eleven children born to Edmund Udy and Mary Buxton Udy. She attended Riverside Elementary and Bear River High School. She married Joseph E. Forsberg on August 27, 1930 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. At the time of Joe?s death in 1992, the couple had been married for over 62 years. Mom was a hard worker and was known as a woman of strong character. She worked at Bowcutt Floral and Gus?s Grocery and also helped with the family farm. She enjoyed cooking and baking and no one left her home without a bite to eat. Grandma Pete will leave lasting memories of cinnamon rolls and homemade bread. She loved handiwork, particularly quilting, and generously shared her talents with family and friends. The greatest disappointment of her life was losing her eyesight. She was an active member of the Belmont Second Ward and served faithfully in various callings. Mom enjoyed sporting events. She loved watching Jack and Melinda train horses in the arena behind her home and also attended the competitions. She particularly enjoyed watching her brothers, grandsons and nephews race cutter teams. She and Dad enjoyed fishing together. Mom was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, four sisters, her daughter Erlyn Pitkin, a stillborn son and great-grandson Brayden Scoffield. Grandma Pete leaves behind many who loved her dearly: brothers, Ray V. Louise Udy of Riverside and Oleen Udy of Ogden; daughters, Connie Dean Andersen of Garland and Marlene Gayle Christensen of Tremonton; son, Jack E. Melinda Forsberg of Riverside and son-in-law Darrell Pitkin of Riverside. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and eight great, great grandchildren. We will celebrate her life Monday, March 7, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Belmont 1st/2nd Ward Chapel located at 16925 North 5200 West, Riverside. Family and friends may visit from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, March 6, 2005 at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home located at 111 North 100 East, Tremonton and Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral at the church. Interment will be at the Riverside Cemetery. The family would like to thank everyone who made it possible for our mother and grandmother to spend her last days at home surrounded by family and friends.
