Clara Jane Carpenter Holley died peacefully at Logan Nursing Facility on July 13, 2005 of complications due to a brain tumor. She was born in Duluth, MN on August 13, 1914. She graduated from high school and started college at 16. As a young adult, she was very adventurous and worked all over the country, including Alaska and Washington DC before finally settling in California. She moved to Provo, UT in 1972, where she took a job at BYU as LaVell Edwards? secretary, retiring in 1980. Clara was loved by all those whose lives she touched. Although we are very happy for her, she will be sorely missed by her husband, Earl H. Holley, her children, Betty Christenson, Melinda DeWit, Jeff Hanes, Maureen Waters, Leah Gifford, Cherryl Muhlstein, Cliff Holley and her 42 grandchildren, 69 great grandchildren and 2 great- great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by Bruce Holley. A memorial service will be held to honor her on Monday, July 18 at 11:00 AM, preceded by the viewing at 10:00 AM in the River Ridge 1st Ward building located at 1120 East 600 North in Orem, UT.
