Bothwell - Clair J Firth, 82, passed away peacefully in his home of Alzheimer's, with his eternal companion at his side on Wednesday, August 25, 2004. He was born on May 27, 1922 in Bothwell, Utah to Albert Y. Bert and Jennie Child Firth. He married Ethel Mae Manning on October 5, 1943 in the Logan LDS Temple.
Clair lived in Bothwell all of his life. He was in the Army Infantry during 1943-1944 stationed in Mississippi. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various callings throughout his life. He loved his family and was a quiet strength to his children and grandchildren. He found contentment in farming, raising cattle and loved driving a good team of Shire draft horses.
Surviving are his wife, five children: Carol Jess Petersen of Penrose; Rex Kathy Firth of South Jordan; Max Rebecca Firth of Malad, Idaho; Wayne Debra Firth of Bothwell, and Wendi John Kaiserman of Thatcher; one brother, Delbert Firth and one sister, June F. Call; 18 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 11 step great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother Dean Firth, one sister Cleone F. Nicholas, one step grandson and one step great grandson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 28, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bothwell LDS Chapel located at 10350 West 11600 North, Bothwell. Friends and family may call Friday, August 27, 2004 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home located at 111 North 100 East, Tremonton, Utah and also Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church prior to the funeral.
Interment will be at the Bothwell Valley View Cemetery.
