Logan, UT- Charles Brent McCulloch, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away in his home surrounded by his precious family on Monday, November 10, 2014 after a valiant fight with cancer.
He was born on October 19, 1962 in Mo'tua'tua, Apia, Western Samoa to Charles Merlin McCulloch and RaNae Hansen, the fourth of eight children. At a young age, he learned a strong work ethic which he later instilled in his children. Chuck was called as a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1981 where he labored in the Mississippi Jackson Mission until 1983. He attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho, graduating with an Associate's degree in 1986. He married the love of his life, Lori Lynn Dibble, on April 8, 1988 in the Dallas Texas Temple. They are the proud parents of nine children and the grandparents of one extraordinary boy and a much anticipated spring baby. His family was everything to him. Chuck graduated from Idaho State University in 1993 with a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications. He won numerous awards for his photography and videography and he loved taking pictures of his family and friends.
Chuck loved to garden and he loved to share the produce from his garden with his friends and family. Chuck was also an avid scouter. He earned his Eagle Scout at the age of 13, served as an assistant scoutmaster at the age of 18, and served as scoutmaster at the age of 25. He worked with numerous boys over the course of his life and served on numerous scouting committees. He loved nothing more than helping a young man reach his potential.
Chuck was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He loved the Savior with his whole heart and soul and he tried very hard to live his life in accordance with the Savior's teachings.
He is survived by his wife, Lori, his children: Steven, Benjamin Kaloni, Austin, Kallie, Lonnie, Charlie, Jack, Maddie, and Jesse Leah; his grandson, Jayson Charles McCulloch; his mother, RaNae Hansen McCulloch Foster Steve; his siblings: Lonnie Jeanette, LaRue Workman Jim, RaLyn McManus Bob, Tiana Filiaga Tui, Seth Tina, Jim Charlene, and Rinnie Hancock Scott along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Merlin McCulloch, and his grandparents: Seth and Carrol Hansen and Charles and Dora McCulloch.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at the Logan 29th Ward chapel, 792 N 500 E, Logan, Utah. There will be a viewing prior to the service beginning at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs, Idaho.
