Charles H. Keller, Jr., died Monday, July 8, from complications following a stroke. He was 79. He was a man of tremendous energy and strength who loved his family deeply and had a great sense of humor. Born in Logan, Utah, on 13 October 1922, to Charles Henry and Ruby Matilda Haight Keller, Charles graduated from South Cache High School in 1940. Charles served in the Navy as an Aviation Machinist during World War II. On March 31, 1945 he married the love of his life, Norma Katherine Larson, at Treasure Island, California. The couple lived in Logan the first few years of their married life, then moved to Culver City, California, where Charles studied automatic transmission repair. They moved back to Cache Valley in 1958. Charles owned and operated Keller Automotive Transmissions for over twenty years before retiring. Charles was an avid hunter, fisherman, hobbyist and electronics enthusiast who couldn?t resist the latest technology. He built model airplanes, hi-fi equipment, and in the latter years he was engaged in creating and computer-cataloging audio- and video-tapes. He was Elders Quorum President and a High Priest in the LDS Church. He was a member of the Providence 9th Ward. Charles H. Keller, Jr., was preceded in death by brothers Ralph and Reginald, and by sisters Betty Smart and Colleen Fiscus. He is survived by his wife, Norma, and their three children: Kevin Keller, Kerry Keller, and Charlene Keller Douglass, and by Kerry?s wife, Lisa, and Charlene?s husband Paul. He is also survived by his sister, Joan Brand, and brother, Kenneth Keller. Charles has four grandchildren: Michael Keller, Melissa Keller Sentz, Regan Douglass, and Jeremy Douglass, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and their progeny. Services will be held at the Providence 3rd Ward Church at 309 South Main Street on Friday, July 12th, at 12:00 noon.
