Cecil Brent Gardner

September 7, 1947 — September 13, 2004

Cecil Brent Gardner, 57, passed away peacefully Monday, September 13, 2004 at home in his favorite rocking chair. He was born on September 7, 1947 to Floyd M. and Bertha L. Hadfield Gardner. He was raised in Deweyville and attended Bear River High School. He was an avid sports fan, following local softball teams that played at the Deweyville sports complex. He was also a fan of the Utah Jazz. Brent was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a faithful home teacher. He filled other callings to the best of his ability. "It is not asked of us to achieve the top, only that we give our very best effort." To this end, Brent went to the Atlanta Special Olympics. Brent won a fist full of medals. He got along very well with his classmates and fellow workers in Brigham City. He was a good friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law, Mary Gardner, and niece, Lisa Gardner.
Surviving are his sister, Cheryl John Roberts, Boulder, CO, two brothers, DeLon Gardner, Deweyville, UT, Ralph Rilla Gardner, Pleasant, UT, nine nieces and nephews.
There will be a viewing on Friday, September 17, 2004 at the Deweyville Ward Chapel located at 10750 North Hwy. 38 at 1:00 p.m. A funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. after the viewing at the church.
Interment will be at the Deweyville Cemetery. Then a celebration of Brent's life back at the Deweyville Church.
