Carrie Thorpe Wilson

Tremonton ? Carrie Thorpe Wilson, nearly 95, of Tremonton, died Saturday, December 28, 2002 at the Bear River Valley Care Center in Tremonton. She was born January 3, 1908 the daughter of Thomas Thorpe and Jane Brenchley in Wellsville, Utah. She married Harry Thomas Wilson, Jr. ?Dick? in Wellsville, on February 14, 1929. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple on May 19, 1972. Dick died on December 20, 1991. Carrie attended South Cache High School. She lived in Wellsville and Tremonton. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She worked as a waitress and cook at Ern?s Café in Tremonton and helped her husband in the meat market for many years. Carrie had many talents including an excellent seamstress and sewed many outfits for her family and herself. She pieced and made many quilts. She loved to crochet make dollies and towels; her hands were always busy. Her cooking was the best, which she always shared with her friends and neighbors. Her musical talent was enjoyed by all. She played the piano and organ at many parties and was the organist for the Primary for over 20 years. Carrie was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was the ward organist, relief society Secretary, Bee Hive Teacher, Visiting Teacher, and served a LDS Mission with her husband to the New York Mission from 1975-1976. She is survived by one son Thomas Shirley Wilson of North Ogden; three daughters ? Dorothy ?Dixie? Dee Ramsdell of Bear River City, Shirlee Frank Blum of Tremonton, Vickie Bill Baker of South Jordan; 11 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, eight brothers and sisters, one grandson, and twin great granddaughters. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2002 at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East. Friends may call on Monday from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:30 ? 10:45 a.m. at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Bear River Valley Care Center for their loving care of their Mother over the past seven years.
