Candice Lee Grandy, 78, passed away March 21, 2025 in Arcadia, California, from a lengthy illness. She was born Nov. 25, 1946, in Elgin, Illinois, to Robert and Marjorie Deacon. The family soon moved from Illinois to the Los Angeles area where she loved growing up. She became a majorette for her high school band and loved the Southern California beach and surfing. She attended BYU where she met her first husband, Dean Chisler. They married in 1967 and returned to the Los Angeles area to raise their daughter, Christine. After a divorce, she met Boyd Grandy from Smithfield, Utah, who was working in the Los Angeles area at the time. They met at a church dance, and it was love at first sight. They were married Dec. 23, 1989. She worked as an office manager for many years in the Los Angeles area. Boyd and Candy enjoyed a happy life together for 40 years with both pursuing their dreams of owning and flying airplanes.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother. Survivors include her husband, Boyd; daughter, Christine Whiteside; and two grandsons, Joey and Samuel Whiteside, two sisters and one brother.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 19, at 11 a.m. at the Hillcrest Ward Building, 875 North 1500 East, Logan, Utah, with a visitation before the service from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Paris, Idaho, Cemetery at 3 p.m.
