Calvin L Pehrson, 85, passed away November 22, 2011 at his home in Smithfield, Ut. He was born Feb. 8, 1926 to Carl and Elizabeth Pehrson. He graduated from Logan High School in 1944. On April 2, 1947 he married Edith Andersen in the Logan LDS Temple. She passed away February 2, 2002. He began working for Sears in 1946 repairing radios and televisions. He was a valley known expert TV repairman. Later he worked at Keith Jorgensen's repairing televisions.
He enjoyed the beauties of the outdoors and loved taking pictures of nature and his family. He was gifted in the art of woodworking and many family and friends are recipients of the beautiful art pieces – lamps, picture frames, vases, and bowls. He always had a beautiful yard and garden. He found much joy in sharing the produce. He cherished music and supported his family in all of their musical ambitions.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many important callings. He and Edith served an LDS mission to the Family History Center in Logan. He was also involved in the Sons of the Utah Pioneers.
On Sept. 13, 2003, he married Lois Peterson and moved to Smithfield, Ut.
He is survived by his children: Kathleen Richard Brown of Millville, Utah, Carl Connie Pehrson of Lewiston, Utah, Leo Carol Pehrson of Lander, Wyoming, Janice Wright of Logan, Utah, Tim Nada Pehrson of Plain City, Utah, Alan Karen Pehrson of Sandy, Utah as well as 26 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. He also has 3 step children: John Tony Petersen, Charlot Murray Archibald, Tom Petersen, 11 step grandchildren, and 5 step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Edith, a brother, four sisters, and a grandson.
Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, November 26, 2011 at the Smithfield 8th Ward chapel, 155 West 400 North. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 25 at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan. A viewing will also be held prior to the service from 10;30 to 11;30 a.m. at the Smithfield 8th Ward. Interment will be held at the Logan City Cemetery.
