Bryson Pax Mckenna was born March 28, 2009 in St George, Utah to Morgan Rod McKenna and Michelle Cornia. Never was a baby boy more welcomed, loved and cherished!
His first official family act of duty was to serve as ring bearer at his parents wedding 7 months later. He was all smiles and carried out his duty to perfection,
On August 4, 2011 he became the big brother when his sister Mya was born. He was so proud of her and loved her so very much!
Bryson was a quiet soul but with an ever active mind. He had a quest for knowledge and learning. He studied deeply for anything that interested him. He could tell you anything about dinosaurs, sharks, knives, cats, dogs, firearms, etc. He could hear a gun shot and identify what type of gun was shot. In 1st grade he and his teacher had a hearty discussion over whether penguins had knees. He insisted that they did and she insisted that they didn't. When the class came back in from recess the teacher had to apologize to Bryson because, in fact, penguins have knees.
Bryson was a big animal lover. He could tame any animal. Even the most cantankerous would become a trusted friend with him in minutes. We affectionately called him the 'Animal Whisperer".
He was the unquestionable Nerf Gun champ. As a family we all learned that to engage in a Nerf Gun war was to accept defeat before the war began.
Bryson had an unruly mop of hair, infectious laugh, sly impish grin, keen sense of humor and eyes that sparkled with mirth and mischief. You could easily bribe him with Dr Pepper, Oreos or Star Bursts, even if it meant he had to kiss his Grandma to get it.
He loved his family. They were more than family, they were his friends and anything they did together was great. His best friend was his Grandpa Larry. He loved spending time with Larry and Uncle Eddie at their home in Woodruff, Utah, whether it was for a few hours, days or weeks.
Bryson was a lover of the outdoors whether it was camping, fishing or just exploring.Being in nature was a place of peace and joy to him.
Bryson excelled at target shooting. He could best most adults.
Bryson attended schools in Washington, Utah, Cedar City and Tremonton, Utah. While attending school in Bear River he was active in orchestra, playing violin. He may have been teachers pet as his Aunt Jayme was his teacher
Bryson graduated this life with honor on August 6, 2024 and was welcomed into the loving arms of the Savior. He was loved, cherished and admired by more than he ever realized.
He is survived by his parents, Morgan McKenna, Michelle McKenna, his sister Mya, grandparents, Larry Cornia, Lynn and Tom Gray, MaryEllen Thompson, Rod and Marion Mckenna with many aunts, uncles, cousins and Calico, his beloved cat.
Bryson was preceded in death by his beloved, 4 legged brother, Duke.
As a family we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude and love to all who have showered us with love through texts, phone calls, visits and acts of service.
