Honeyville, UT ? Bryan William Sparks Bunk, 76, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2009 at his home after a battle with cancer. He was born October 26, 1932 in Richmond Utah to Raphel and Donna Mendenhall Sparks. He spent his childhood in Clarkston, Utah and attended Cache Valley schools, graduating in 1951 from North Cache High School. Bunk enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served in North Africa and France. Upon his return, he met MarRue Hunsaker of Honeyville. They were married October 12, 1956 in the Logan LDS Temple. They made their home in Honeyville until his death.
He was a High Priest in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Saints and served in many callings. He was a great example of a faithful Home Teacher.
Sparky was a man who knew how to work; at times working three jobs. He retired from Thiokol. He loved spoiling the grandchildren, attending Utah State football and basketball games, and visiting with friends and relatives. He was known for sharing; whether it was vegetables from his garden or a pot of chili. It was impossible for anyone to visit without being fed by him.
Bunk is survived by his wife, MarRue; his children and their spouses: Les Kathryn Sparks, Kaysville; Lane Cherie Sparks, Wellsville; Kyle Cori Sparks, Honeyville; Holly Mickey Daines, Roy; Son-in-law, Jim Delcambre, Tremonton; brothers and sister: Ray Arthur IvaLue Sparks, Wendell Janeal Sparks, Virginia Bob Veals, David Marlene Sparks, and Seth Kathryn Sparks. He was proud of his 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Joy Delcambre; a son, Kevin; two brothers, Alan Boyce and Ronald. The family wishes to thank the dedicated staff of Intermountain Homecare who assisted in his care in the final weeks.
