Brent Lyle Larson

Brent Lyle Larson, 51, life-long resident of Garland, Utah, passed away on March 4, 2006, in the Ogden McKay Dee Hospital following a heart attack. He is the son of Arnold Wilford and Lottie May Spencer Larson. He married LeVae Nelson of Bountiful, Utah, on December 10, 1977, in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple.
Brent was born September 18, 1954, in Brigham City, Utah. He graduated from Bear River High School and Utah State University with a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and a Masters in Elementary Education with an administrative endorsement. Brent taught at Fielding Elementary School and served as principal in the Howell, Corrine, Fielding, Garland, and McKinley Elementary Schools. He also ran the family farm in Garland.
Brent was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a full-time mission in the Copenhagen Denmark Mission.
He served in many capacities in the Garland 1st and 4th Wards and the Garland Utah Stake, including Elders Quorum President, Bishop, High Counselor, and member of the Stake Presidency. He also served as a district committee member in the Golden Spike Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
He loved working with people, especially the students and staff in his elementary schools. Most of all he loved his family.
Brent is survived by his wife, LeVae, his children Kirsten Tom Greenwood Bountiful, UT, Rachelle Greg Hymas Boise, ID, Lindsey, Kevin Brent, Carey Arnold, and Curtis Guy. He is also survived by his mother and step-father, May and George Leslie Darrington; brothers, Arnold James and Jerry W; sister, Linda; and grandchildren, Adam and Logan Hymas. He was preceded in death by his father, Arnold, and brother Bruce DeLyn Larson.
Viewing will be in the Garland Stake Tabernacle, 140 West Factory, Garland, Wednesday, March 8, 2006, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 9, 2006, at 1:30 p.m. in the Tabernacle, with a viewing prior to the services in the Relief Society Room from 11:30-1:00. Interment at Garland Cemetery.
