Brenda Lee Karren, (66) of Smithfield Ut returned to her Father in Heaven on Saturday May 27 with her children at her side.
Brenda was born May 10, 1957 to Farrell and Janet Karren in Cache Valley UT. She was a beautiful, compassionate, and outgoing person. She loved to spend time with her family and had friends everywhere she went. On December 22, 1977 she married Doug Porter. They later divorced but remained lifelong friends and coparents. She was a loving Mother and her children always came first. She never missed a game or school meeting and served as the PTA President at her children’s Elementary school. Brenda graduated from Skyview High School where she was a Vistaun. She later attended Weber State University and attained her Respiratory Therapy Degree. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was endowed in the Logan Temple where she served for many years. She had a strong testimony and love for her Savior Jesus Christ. She also enjoyed her time serving in the library in her Smithfield ward. Brenda was a creative and talented person. She enjoyed sewing, making stained glass, gardening, crocheting, knitting, quilting, counted cross stich, reading, painting, ceramics, all crafting in general and Wednesday Rummikub with friends. She spent countless hours attending temples, studying the scriptures, and doing church and family history. The last year of Brendas life was spent in St George Utah where she loved the weather, decorating her patio, growing vegetables, and visiting with new friends whom she loved like family. Brenda is survived by her Mother, Janet Karren; her sisters, Nancy Bingham (Victor) and Cindy Porter (Fred); her brother, Brent Karren (Jodi); her children, Kalli Benton (Burk) and Brady Porter (Chelsy); her six grandchildren, Porter, Daxton, Jace, Rebb, Tayci, and Chance; and her dog, Maddie.
A visitation will be held at the LDS Church at 451 S 250 E Smithfield UT Wednesday June 7, 2023 from 10:00-10:45AM followed by a funeral at 11:00 AM.
