Bonnie Fulkerson Parson

Bonnie Fulkerson Parson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother, passed away Sunday, May 30, 2004, at the Logan House of causes incident to age. She was born November 25, 1913, in Smithfield, Utah, to Lafayette and Mary Ann Fulkerson. She grew up in the Smithfield Railroad Depot where her father was the railroad agent and telegrapher. Bonnie was the seventh of nine children and loved spending time with her two brothers and seven sisters playing games and enjoying music. Bonnie graduated from North Cache High School in 1932 and worked as a secretary at the Del Monte cannery in Smithfield. She married the love of her life, Jack B. Parson, on January 18, 1933, in Logan, Utah. Bonnie was a faithful companion throughout her life and sacrificed much in support of Jack?s business and civic interests. Together they built one of the Intermountain region?s largest construction companies, Jack B. Parson Companies. Some of Bonnie?s most cherished memories include traveling with her husband, family vacations in St. George and Sun Valley, their winter home in Borrego Springs, California, and family parties. Bonnie loved the beauties of nature and her incredible flower garden. She enjoyed playing Marathon Bridge with her friends and was a fierce competitor winning many prizes. Most of all, Bonnie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and was proud of the many personal and professional accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. Bonnie was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1962. Bonnie and Jack were blessed with four children and she is survived by Jack B. Parson, Jr. DeAnne of Pleasant View; Ned F. Parson Marilyn of Ogden; Kathryn Rubin Jack of Scottsdale, Arizona; and Michael E. Parson Rhonda of Cove. Bonnie is the proud grandmother of thirteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson deceased. Bonnie is also survived by one sister, Jenness Hurren of Hyde Park. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, husband 1992, two brothers Jimmy and Robert, five sisters Bessie, Mable, Mary, Lois, and Dorothy, and one great-great-grandson Hayden. Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon, Thursday, June 3, 2004, at the Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan, where friends may call Wednesday, 7 ? 9 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to services. Interment at the Smithfield City Cemetary. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Utah State University or Weber State University to the Jack and Bonnie Parson Scholarship Fund.
