Bonnie Ann Ames Miller

November 19, 1938 — March 17, 2012

Bonnie Ann Ames Miller, 73, died surrounded by family on March 17, 2012 in Logan, Utah after a short yet courageous battle with cancer. Bonnie was born on November 19, 1938 in Roosevelt, Utah to Ilez Edwards and Clinty R. Ames. She was the third child of six and learned to work as a young girl on her family's farm in the Uintah Basin. At an early age, she was taught the Gospel of Jesus Christ by her parents and developed a lifelong love for the church, and her Savior Jesus Christ. She graduated from Altamont High in 1957. Shortly after, she moved to Logan, Utah and began attending Utah State University. A fellow USU choir student whom she eventually came to love and marry quickly noticed her. On September 11, 1958 she was sealed for time and all eternity to H. Edward Miller in the Salt Lake Temple. From this point on, she would begin her magnum opus: her family. She would eventually have eleven children, forty grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Mom was always active in church and held many callings; most notably, and probably her favorite was choir director. She had a beautifully unforgettable voice; and was a talented piano player. She loved to tend her garden and fruit trees as well as the numerous flowers she planted; a passion which she passed on to many of her children. During her life she was able to travel to Europe twice, to Mexico, and across the U.S. She was an active member of the DUP and spent much of her time researching her family genealogy and doing LDS temple work.
She was preceded in death by her husband H. Edward Miller 2007 and a son, Patrick Paul 1978. She is survived by her children: August Becky Miller, Highland, UT. Becky Kerry Lehman Port St. Lucie, FL. Eric Salli Miller Blackfoot, ID. Lotti Keith Merrill Logan, UT, Sandy Jeff Jones Washington, UT. Angela Boyd Hunter, South Ogden, UT. Corey Rossana Miller Richmond, UT. Daniel Heather Miller Richmond, UT, Rachel Jeromy Jamison Logan, UT. Jeni Clint Graves Pembroke, GA. As well as 40 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren plus two on the way.
Funeral services will be held Friday March 23rd at noon at the Richmond, Utah LDS Stake Center 135 West Main Street. A viewing will be held from 10-11:30 a.m. just prior to the service. An additional viewing will be held Thursday March 22nd from 6-8 p.m. at the Nelson Funeral Home, 85 South Main Street, Smithfield, Utah. Interment will be in the Richmond, Utah cemetery.
Her children would like to thank all friends, family and ward members who took the time to visit Mom, send flowers, food, and cards. We would also like to thank the many hospice nurses, nurses aides especially Adrienne, who we all came to love and know as she kindly cared for Mom's needs. We know our Mother was loved and are grateful for all the support she received in her final months on this earth. May God bless all those who served. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family online at www.nelsonfuneralhome.com
