On October 22, 2014 our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Blanche Billings Mathews passed away at the age of 85 in Logan, Utah after complications following a stroke. She was born November 24, 1928 in Delta, Utah. She is the 6th child of 11 children born to Gerald Oraian and Anna Wilcox Billings. She graduated from Delta High School, and Dixie Junior College with an Associate Degree. She served in the Northern States Mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She married Melburn Kay Mathews, later divorced. She has three children: Stephen K. Barbara Mathews of Smithfield, Utah, Joylee Stanley Tudor of Seaton, South Australia, and Ruthann Mathews of Logan, Utah. She is blessed with one grandchild, Kurt Tudor. She served in the Young Women and Relief Society as a secretary, in the Primary as a teacher, and as a Relief Society Visiting Teacher and door greeter. She enjoyed attending the Logan Temple regularly with her good friend Lou Ryan.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Geraldine B. Carter and Lucile B. Western; sister-in-law Dolores T. Billings; brothers: Cecil Eugene and Howard Keith Billings. She is survived by her children, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, and grandson; brothers: George E. Billings of Salt Lake City, Terah L. Joye Billings of Sandy, Fenton W. Jackie Billings of Springville, Bryce G. Marylyn Billings of Bountiful; sisters: Arlene Billings of Washington, D.C., Wanda B. Barker of West Jordan, sisters-in-law: Kathryn A. Billings of West Valley City, and Lois S. Billings of Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Funeral service will be held Monday, 27 Oct 2014, 12:00 noon at the Logan Fifth Ward Chapel, 305 East 300 North, with a viewing prior to the service from 10:30 to 11:30 A.M. There will also be a viewing Sunday, 26 Oct 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan, Utah.
Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
