Blaine Reese Lamb

Blaine Reese Lamb 83 of Hyde Park, Utah, passed away December 18, 2004, at the Logan Regional Hospital. He was born October 5, 1921 in Benson, Utah, to Willis James and Andrea Elizabeth Reese Lamb. He was the oldest of six children. Blaine was a lifelong resident of Hyde Park. He attended Hyde Park Elementary and graduated from North Cache High School in 1939. He also attended USAC. He enlisted in the Navy in 1942 and served until his honorable discharge in 1946. He returned home to help with the family farm and dairy. He worked the land as a farmer for most of his life. He was a school bus driver, and for many years, he drove the bus from Hyde Park to North Cache. He married Glenna Godfrey on April 12, 1979 in Hyde Park. They celebrated their twenty-fifth year together this last April. He loved to garden and generously shared his harvest with neighbors and friends. Blaine owned several racehorses and enjoyed traveling with his wife Glenna to see them race. He was a member of the LDS Hyde Park 5th Ward and served as a home teacher. He also served in a calling as a security guard at the temple. Blaine is survived by his wife, Glenna; stepchildren: Thomas Anderson, Arizona; Carol Joe Perkes, LeRoy Peggy Balls, both of Hyde Park; Tena Kyle Godfrey of Clarkston; fourteen step-grandchildren and twelve step-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, LaRee Gibbons of Clearfield, and Arlene Scott Fluckiger of Logan. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Basil and William, sister; Beth Matthews, and brother-in-law Alvin Gibbons. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 22, in the Hyde Park 5th Ward Chapel with Bishop Craig Smith conducting. Family and friends may call Tuesday evening December 21, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan and on Wednesday Dec 22, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Hyde Park cemetery where there will be graveside military honors. Condolences may be extended to the family online at www.nelsonfuneralhome.com
