Betty Ruth Bowcut Jensen, age 75, passed away at Yuma Regional Medical Center, Yuma, Arizona on January 28, 2004.
Born July 4, 1928, in Garland, Utah to Alfred and Josephine Newman Bowcutt. Betty graduated from Bear River High School. She worked as a telephone operator in Garland, and after she moved to South Ogden, Utah, she worked at South Ogden Cleaners and The Fabric Shop. But her role as wife and mother made her most happy. Betty married Jerald Jerry Jensen February 28, 1948 in Logan, Utah. They were later sealed together in the Logan LDS Temple November 22, 1965. An active member of the LDS Church, she served as Cub Scout Leader, in Young Women's, Relief Society and most recently as Librarian. Betty loved working with her hands making craft items. She was a beautiful seamstress and was always willing to show you how to sew a project. She enjoyed Rving with her family and was the life of the party at the large family gatherings. She loved a good laugh. Betty moved to Yuma, Arizona in 1995 where she resided until her death.
Survived by her four children, daughter Sally Scott Critchlow, South Ogden; three sons, Larry, Riverdale, Utah; Terry Cathy, Yuma, Arizona; and Timothy Jensen, Pleasant View, Utah. Eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren; and sister, Hazel Burnhope. She was proceeded in death by her husband, parents, four sisters, and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 2, 2004 in the Garland 4thWard Building, 175 South Main Street, Garland, Utah. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Sunday evening and one hour prior to services.
Internment at the Fielding, Utah Cemetery. Flowers accepted at 898 East Factory Street, #22, Garland, Utah.
