Garland, UT – Betty Jean Osmond Hess, 65, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2009 at McKay Dee Hospital from complications after surgery. She was born June 28, 1944 to Ralph J and Lydia Tullis Osmond in Nampa, ID. She married LaVerl Dee Hess June 6, 1975 in Pocatello, ID. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.
Betty was reared in Uintah and attended Bonneville High School. She was an artisan in needlework. She was gracious and loving. She nurtured friends and family.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as Relief Society President.
Surviving are her son, Jay Osmond; step-daughter, Karla Smith; step-son, Doug Hess; ten grandchildren; two brothers: Dennis Jane Osmond, and Daniel Lisa Osmond; four sisters: Donna Kearney, Shirley Gary Pilkington, Kathy Reed Torman and Mary Richard Lemon; and one sister-in-law Kathy Osmond Ross.
She is preceded in death by her husband, LaVerl and brother, David.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 25, 2009 2:00 p.m. at the Garland Tabernacle, 140 West Factory St., Garland with Bishop Dennis Rhodes officiating. Family and friends may call from 1:00-1:45 p.m. prior to the funeral.
Interment will be in the Fielding Cemetery.
