North Logan – Our sweet "Lou" died so very peacefully at her home and returned to her Heavenly Home on the beautiful autumn afternoon of October 16, 2008, surrounded by those who love her. A small tear remained in her eye to let us know that she loved life and would miss us even though she was confined to her home for many years. There was never a complaint heard from her. She was cared for by her family and the angelic women of Rocky Mountain Hospice, whom she considered to be like daughters. She was second in a family of five daughters and two sons born to William J. and Margaret Paton Loosle on February 23, 1922. She grew up in Clarkston, Utah and graduated from North Cache High School. She married our father, Glen W. Hancey on October 9, 1948 and they were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple on February 14, 1956. Together they raised a family of four children: Gary RaeLynn Hancey, Janet Gregory Forbush, Bruce Jolene Hancey, and Diane Tim Poulson. She loved her 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren with all her heart and they will never forget the wonderful example she has been to them. Her family was the center of her life and she has left them with many wonderful memories. Betty was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served in the primary presidency of the North Logan 1st ward and never missed watching a General Conference. Even when ill, Mom did not waste her time and her greatest desire was to continue to learn of our Savior, Jesus Christ. She has always been a woman of faith, peacefully trusting in the Lord. Betty is survived by her children, grandchildren, and siblings: Doug Marie Loosle; Norma Wallentine; Don Betty Loosle; Margaret Arnold Dance; and Bonnie Erickson. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Glen, her parents, and her older sister Dorene. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at the North Logan Green Canyon Stake Center, 1800 North 400 East. Friends and family may call at the church Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
