Betty Lou Briscoe

Portage, UT – Betty Lou Briscoe, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed from this life early on the morning of Thursday, July 17, 2008 after several months of illness.
Betty entered this life May 15, 1934, in Pocatello, Idaho, as the third daughter of Irvan and Eva Beebe.
She attended Pocatello schools, and graduated from Pocatello High School. Betty met and married Jay Briscoe, also of Pocatello, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple, July 8, 1954. They lived and worked in Pocatello, until 1959, when they moved to Utah, where the family spent many years in Kaysville, but completed her life after living in Portage, for 11 years with her husband, Jay.
Betty was always a fun loving and active person. She was loved by all who knew her. She was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held positions of responsibility in the different wards in which the family resided. Betty also worked for several years as Credit Manager for Clover Club/Borden Foods, in Kaysville, Utah.
Betty is survived by her husband, Jay Briscoe, of Portage, Utah, and five children: LuAnn Briscoe, Layton, Utah, Gregory Briscoe JoAnn, Collierville, Tennessee, Brian Briscoe Linnea, St. Peters, Missouri, Kristi Raymond Galloway, Nibley, Utah and Allyson Cragun Brett, Syracuse, Utah, plus 15 grandchildren.
She is also survived by three sisters: Dorothy Jenkins, Pocatello, Idaho, Elaine Nelson Rex Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Carol Gerald Ross, Inkom Idaho.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 22, 2008, 11:00 a.m. at the Portage LDS 1st Ward Chapel, 8910 West 25800 North, Portage, Utah. It will be preceded by a viewing from 9:45–10:45 a.m., also at the chapel. A viewing is also scheduled for Monday evening, July 21st, from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton, Utah. Interment will be at the Portage Cemetery.
