Betty Jean Daley Bangart

November 9, 1930 — January 25, 2013

Betty Jean Daley Bangart, 82, passed away unexpectedly on the morning of January 25, 2013. Betty was born in Grafton, North Dakota to Clarence and Alice Daley. She was one of eight children, seven girls and one boy. She was fond of saying that she had six sisters, and they each had a brother! She attended grammar school near the family farm in Mandt, North Dakota. She attended the Walsh County Agricultural School WCAS in Park River, and was homecoming queen when she graduated in 1947. She attended one year of college at North Dakota Agricultural College NDAC in Fargo. She later met Robert Wayne Bangart in Billings, Montana and they were married on April 2, 1950. Together they raised five children.
Betty was devoted to her family and friends. Betty had an infectious laugh and loved to talk. She cultivated numerous friendships which were very important to her and she kept in touch with them over the years. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed making clothes for her family. Two of her later passions were big hats and big jewelry, and her earrings never failed to make a favorable impression! She was also an excellent cook, and her family will remember her apple pie, lefse and almond roca with particular fondness. In addition to successfully raising her five children, Betty worked as a waitress and later managed retirement homes with her husband. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Robert Wayne Bangart, and her daughters Susan Rae Worf and Nancy Kay Troyer. She is survived by her sisters Joyce McDowell, Patsy Holt, Wanda Petitclerc, and brother John Daley; her daughter Tracy Oppenlander, sons Tony Bangart and Richard Bangart; grandchildren Gamyr Worf, Tyler Worf, Seth Worf, Lauren Oppenlander, Paige Bangart, and Chase Oppenlander; and great-grandchildren Hannah Worf, Logan Worf, Creighton Worf, and Autumn Worf.
Services will be held at the LDS Nibley 2nd Ward Chapel located at 130 West 2600 South in Nibley, Utah on Wednesday January 30, 2013 at 2:00 p.m.
