Bette Jo Roch Huish

July 15, 1927 — February 2, 2008

On February 2, 2008, Bette left her jazzy scooter behind and walked on strong and steady legs to her sweetheart, Carl, and clearly spoke the words, "Honey, I've missed you, but I'm home now." Bette was born on July 15, 1927, in Wichita Falls, Texas, the daughter of James Cunningham and Leola McCord Roch. After skipping several grades, she graduated from high school in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She married Earnest Carl Huish February 3, 1945 in Los Lunas, New Mexico. Soon after, she was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and they were later sealed for time and all eternity June 9, 1950 in the Mesa Arizona Temple. Serving the Church in many capacities was always a pleasure and being a bishop's wife many times over gave her the opportunity to share her sweet smile and genuine compassion for others. She and Carl also cherished their time serving the Lord as Temple Officiators. Being around her would always boost a persons' spirit and give them a more positive outlook on life. No matter what she was doing or what challenge she was going through at the time, she always had a way of making you feel like you were the most important person in the world to her. She was truly a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to everyone. From the oldest family member to the youngest great-grandchild; from the grocery store clerk to the gas station attendant; from the doctor to the nurses' aids; she was deeply loved by everyone. The world was a better place in which to live just having her in it and she will truly be missed. Bette is survived by her four daughters, Diana Ken Larson; Mary Doyl; Karen Spencer; Arlene Lanny Lewis; 15 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a granddaughter. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 7, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at the Tremonton LDS 2nd Ward Chapel, 300 South Tremont Street. Friends and family may pay their respects Wednesday, February 6, 2008 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home 111 North 100 East, Tremonton, and Thursday afternoon from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at the Church prior to the funeral services. Interment will be at the Tremonton Riverview Cemetery, where this beloved lady will be laid to rest next to her Eternal Companion and Sweetheart Carl.
