Beth Chambers Speth, 88, of Logan, Utah passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 13, 2018.
She was born February 19, 1930 to her parents Addie Watson and Theophilus Chambers Jr.
She married Kenneth Carl Speth on July 6, 1949 in the Logan Utah Temple.
She is survived by her six children Donald (Karen) Speth, Donnetta Bartschi, O’Dell (Terri) Speth, Tonya Speth, Michelle (Jeff) Jacobsen, Deon (Scott) Openshaw. Her posterity includes. 29 grandchildren, 62 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 11 siblings, Susan Speth and Jalaine Speth daughter-in-laws and Kody Smothermon a great grandson.
Beth, was very industrious and started working at a very young age caring for people and cleaning houses. She was gifted in the art of sewing and perfected her talents as she worked at
Bernina Fabrics and then at JC Penneys in the fabric department, She worked there for over 20 years before she retired to take care of her critically ill husband until he passed away. She then spent her time volunteering as a Senior Companion, as an usher for Eccles Theater, and
president of the Garden Club. She also received recognition for her dedicated service of 15 years from Logan Regional Hospital.
Her interests included oil painting, knitting, crocheting, and making quilts. Her green thumb allowed her to grow exquisite flowers around her yard each year. If you commented on the beauty of her snapdragons you left with snapdragons.
She loved her family and treasured every moment she spent watching her great grandchildren play with her bucket of toys.
We are grateful for the devoted care our mother received at Maple Springs Assisted Living Center. She thoroughly loved the personal attention she received from the staff and the association she had with the residence through the activities and entertainment. Also, we want to thank IHC Hospice for the great care they provided until her passing.
Our mother loved Christmas time and we consider It a blessing for her to return home to spend Christmas with her sweetheart.
