Bear River City, Bessie Eva Hamilton Christensen, 88 of Bear River City, UT died May 2, 2008 in Brigham City, UT. Born September 4, 1919 in Brigham City, UT, she was the daughter of William Richard and Daisy Mae Skinner Hamilton. She was a graduate of Box Elder High School. On November 22, 1938 she married Chester Hyrum Christensen in Las Vegas, NV and was later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple March 27, 1958. Bessie was very active in community activities serving at the Box Elder County Fair as a Director of the Home Arts Division. In 1992, was given the deserved Farm Bureau Distinguished Service to Agriculture Award. Bessie also was committed and loved her religion serving as Cub Scout Leader, Primary President, devoted Visiting Teacher. She and Chester served a Brigham City Tabernacle Mission, 8 years as Ordinance Workers in the Ogden Temple and also served an LDS Mission to Ohio Columbus Mission stationed in McMechen, West Virginia. She loved quilting, spoon collecting, word search, counting cars and trucks with her grandchildren, helping others and sitting in her swing enjoying the beauties of God's world. Surviving are her Husband of 69 ½ years Chester Hyrum Christensen Her Children: Chester Robert "Bob" Linda Christensen, Bette Ann C. Roger Dallin, Curtis H. Karen Christensen, Karen Mae Brian Chutka and Kent H. Kim Christensen. 21 Grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren who are very proud to have had her as a Mother and Grandmother. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at the Bear River City LDS Chapel 5870 North 4700 West, Bear River City, UT. Friends and Family may call from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home 111 North 100 East, Tremonton, UT and 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church prior to the funeral services. Burial will follow at the Bear River City Cemetery.
